Outreach

St. Luke's lives its Vision - offering glimpses of the sacred to those who have faith and to those who do not through inspiring ministry, learning, celebration and community service.

The Inter-faith Food Pantry @ Old First Church

Join fellow St. Luke's parishioners in a morning of serving the neighborhood by volunteering at our Inter-faith Food Pantry. Over 300 people are given as many groceries as they can carry in a cooperative effort between the San Francisco Food Bank and local churches. Email the office to find out how to volunteer.

Bayview Mission

St. Luke’s has a longstanding connection to the good work done at the Bayview Mission, a great community resource founded and orchestrated by the Rev. Canon Nina Pickerell, whom you may know from her years of service at Grace Cathedral. There are many ways to support BM:

Direct donations - priority items (new or in good condition) include:

  • baby blankets
  • baby clothes (especially “onesies”)
  • diapers, especially size 5 and newborn
  • toiletries and dental supplies
  • warm socks - all sizes
  • buttons and yarn
  • zip lock bags (larger than sandwich size)
  • towels and sheets
  • children’s books
  • cloth laundry bags
  • laundry supplies

There is a collection basket in the back of the church.

Or donations of a wide range of stuff including clothes, etc. to Community Thrift Store, with designating proceeds to Bayview Mission, Account #146. Check their website for how and what to donate: communitythriftsf.org/donate

Or direct cash donations:
